The project was to expand a glass manufacturing facility and install the corresponding above ground and below ground conveyance systems. The below

ground conveyance system required a large amount of excavation and the construction of 250 feet of 12-foot deep tunnel. It all had to be done

• 250 feet of 12-foot deep tunnel

• Below ground and above ground conveyors

• 4,500 cubic yards of excavation inside an operational manufacturing plant

• Shoring span of 50 feet to support roof

• 5,000+ man hours, 87 days, no plant shutdowns

• No lost time injuries
